<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">It is intimated that the industry is a small-scale red category. The industry was earlier granted renewal of Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Varied/LDH4/2022/18144457 dated 09.06.2022, which is adequate upto 08.06.2023 for discharge of Trade Effluent @ 993.75 KLD into CETP 40 MLD (Focal Point Module) and Domestic Effluent @ 6.25 KLD into CETP 40 MLD (Focal Point Module)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">Thereafter the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 which was refused vide no. CTOW/Varied/LDH4/2023/22556989 dated 20.07.2023. Earlier the industry was visited on 12.07.2023 and the industry was found operating 04 no. soft flow machines (350 KG) in violation of DC, Ludhiana order dated 10.07.2023 regarding closing of the dyeing industry and was found discharging untreated effluent into sewer through flexible pipe.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">Thereafter, the directions u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 was issued to the industry vide no. 3793 dated 21.07.2023 with effect that:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">1. That, the industry shall close down its operations, not to operate the unit and dismantle and remove all outlets and stop forthwith discharging its effluent into MC sewer/conveyance system of CETP 40 MLD or through any other mode.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">2. That, the industry will immediately stop its wet process activities and will not restart the same unless all necessary water pollution control measures are taken and it obtains CTO under WA, 1974.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">3. That, the wet process/dyeing machinery installed by the industry shall be sealed.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">4. That CTO under WA, 1974 applied by the industry shall be refused.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">5. That, the EC shall be imposed on the industry as damage to the Environment.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">And this office was asked to seal wet process/dyeing machinery installed by the industry vide endst. no. 3794 dated 21.07.2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">Now, the industry has applied for varied Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for production of Knitted Cloth @ 27300 Kg/day, Dyeing and Finishing of Polyester Fabric @ 27300 Kg/Day, OR Dyeing and Finishing of PC/Cotton Fabric @ 10920 Kg/day and Printing of Fabrics @ 5000 Kg/day. Earlier the production detail submitted by the industry was not in consonance with capacity of machinery installed. Now the industry has submitted production detail in consonance with total machinery. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif;">The industry has already deposited fee of amounting Rs. 108000/- vide UTR no KARBN21161959934 dated 10.06.2021 along with NOC fees of Rs 10800/- vide UTR no KARBN21161945368 dated 10.06.2021 under the Water Act ,1974, which is valid upto 30.05.2026 (after deducting late penalty fee). </span></p>

During visit entire wet process/dyeing machinery has been sealed and industry stop discharging its trade effluent/domestic effluent into dedicated conveyance system of CETP 40 MLD.</span></p>

As per SCADA details the average of last 06 months is as follows: the average 603 KLD of fresh water consumption, 561.61 KLD of treated effluent (treated effluent discharged within consented limit).</span></p>

The plan reflects that industry is discharging its trade effluent and domestic effluent into dedicated conveyance system of CETP 40 MLD. No bypass has been provided by the industry.</span></p>
