<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The Add. Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-1, Ludhiana brought out that the industry is small scale orange category unit and was earlier granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH2/2018/7529806 dated 4.6.2018 valid upto 30/06/2023 and under Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Fresh/LDH2/2018/7598506 dated 04.6.2018 valid upto 30/06/2023 for production of Auto Parts @ 20000 Numbers/day.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry is engaged in production of Auto Parts but failed to intimate the details of forging furnaces, fuel used and detail of stack height in the application form.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry has failed to intimate the re-circulation system of cooling water in the forging section.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0cm; margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: 35.45pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981, with hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer of the Board on 31.07.2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 115%; tab-stops: 36.0pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"> Sh. R.V. Mahato, Manager of the industry attended the hearing and submitted written reply which was taken on record. He stated that the industry is engaged in production of Auto Parts and installed 2 Electric Billet Heaters having the capacity of 300 KW and 200 KW being Forging Furnace and there is no any air emission. They have installed re-circulation system with storage tank of size 8'x9'x4 with cooling tower to re-circulate cooling water in the forging section and are consuming 1.0 KLD fresh water as make-up water for cooling and domestic effluent 2.5 KLD is being discharged in sewer. He further requested to grant consents of the Board.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin: 0cm; margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; tab-stops: 36.0pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"> After hearing the industry, officer of the Board and considering material facts on record, the Senior Environmental Engineer of the Board decided that:-</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -18.0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: 36.0pt;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Arial;">1.<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-feature-settings: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry will re-circulate the entire cooling water and discharge only domestic effluent into sewer.</span></p>
