<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">RO has reported that the hotel was granted consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. </span><span lang="EN-US">CTOA/Fresh/ASR/2019/11540039 dated 09/12/2019 dated 31/03/2021 </span><span lang="EN-US">and under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/ASR/2019/11612957 dated 09/12/2019 dated 31/03/2021.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US"> Now, the hotel has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 & Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 along with Compliance of the previous granted consents in annotated form, latest CA Certificate and water analysis report issued by Zonal Lab, Jalandhar.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US"> The hotel was visited by AEE on 08/08/2023 and observed as under:-</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">1. </span><span lang="EN-US">The hotel comprising of 104 no. rooms and was in operation.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">2. </span><span lang="EN-US">The STP installed by the hotel was also in operation.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">3. </span><span lang="EN-US">The record regarding the operation of the hotel was checked during visit.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">4. </span><span lang="EN-US">The hotel has installed 2 no. D.G sets (750 KVA each) and both of them are provided with canopies.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US"> It is pertinent to mention here that the treated effluent samples of the hotel was collected by this office on 28/06/2023 and sent to Zonal Lab, Jalandhar for analysis. As per analysis report received from Zonal Lab, Jalandhar vide no. 1843-45 dated 12/07/2023, the analyzed parameters i.e. pH=7.6, COD=110 mg/l, BOD=20 mg/l, TSS=18 mg/l, TDS=828 mg/l and O&G=4.8 mg/l are within prescribed limits of the Board for such type of discharge.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US"> It is further intimated that the hotel is complying with the conditions of consents granted earlier under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. The hotel falls in Red category in large scale sector and competency to decide the case lies with Worthy Chairman of the Board.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">EE ZO has made following observations to give reply within 02-days:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1. Whether the hotel has deposited E.C. of Rs. 2.0 Lacs as per decisions of PH before MS of the Board dated 16/02/2021.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">2. The Hotel not mentioned about the area of planation, for flushing etc. for the discharge of treated effluent. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">3. The hotel has not mentioned about the B.G. of Rs. 25,000/- as per decisions of PH dated 11/04/2023.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US"><span lang="EN-US">RO has recommended that t</span>he consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the hotel up to 31/03/2027 with suitable terms & conditions.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">In view of the above, it is recommended that t</span>he consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the hotel up to 31/03/2027 with suitable terms & conditions along with special conditions as under:-.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">1. </span><span lang="EN-US">The project proponent shall provide Rain Water Harvesting System in consultation with Punjab Water Regulation & Development Authority (PWRDA). </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">2</span><span lang="EN-US">. </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The project proponent shall maintain records of fresh water consumption and operation of STP on daily basis.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">3. </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The project proponent shall properly handle and manage the solid wastages as per the provisions of the Municipal Solid Waste Rules 2016 and ensure that the solid waste is segregated & disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">4.. </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The Project Proponent shall develop the vermi-composting/composting to manage the bio-degradable solid wastes.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">5. </span><span lang="EN-US"> </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The project proponent shall ensure that hazardous waste (used oil, used batteries) are collected properly & disposed off to the authorized recyclers registered with MoEF & CC / CPCB and having valid operating license of Punjab Pollution Control Board. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-US">6. </span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-US">The project proponent shall ensure that there are no usages of single use plastic - thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches / water cups, plates, forks, spoons, straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic-thermocol or any other non-biodegradable material in the premises </span>as same are banned from 01/07/2022 as per the Notification of Govt. of India as well as Punjab.</p>
