The show cause notice was issued to the industry along with the opportunity for a personal hearing before Chief Environmental Engineer, Ludhiana wherein it was decided that Directions u/s 31-A of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued for closure of the industry. Accordingly, the electricity connection was disconnected by PSPCL vide application no. 100018030108 dated 15-06-2022. <span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #5d5d5d; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The industry later applied for fresh &bdquo;Consent to Operate‟ under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 for Plywood & Board @ 600 Sq.m/day and was found complying. It was granted Consent to Operate accordingly which was valid upto 04/01/2023. The electricity connection of the industry was also restored temporarily for six months. Again temporary restoration of electric connection as well as consent to operate was granted to the industry for short period (six months)  vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH1/2023/20735993 dated 31.01.2023 valid upto 30.07.2023. Later on the industry applied for renewal of consents and restoration of electric connection in the month of July 2023 i.e. before expiry of consents, the same was returned due to incompletion. <span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #5d5d5d; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;">Now, the industry has applied for renewal of Consent to Operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 along with requisite documents and fees. The consent under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 is already valid upto 30.09.2024. <span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #5d5d5d; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;">The industry was visited by RO office on 30.08.2023 & observed as under: <span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #5d5d5d; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;">1.    The industry was in operation during the visit and engaged in the manufacturing of plywood. <span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #5d5d5d; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;">2.    The industry has installed a wood-fired boiler of steam generation capacity 3TPH which has been equipped with cyclone as APCD and rotary valve has been provided with it. <span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #5d5d5d; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;">3.    The air emission samples were collected from the stack and as per Zonal Lab, Ludhiana letter no. 2166 dated 20/12/2022, the parameters are within the prescribed limits of the Board. (Particulate matter @ 218 mg/Nm3 against 500 mg/Nm3). During visit samples were again collected and sent to Lab for analysis. As per analysis report the SPM level is <span style="font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;">176 mg/Nm3<span style="font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;"> against the prescribed standard of 500 mg/ Nm <sup style="font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;">3 <span style="font-variant-ligatures: normal; color: #5d5d5d; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;">5.    The industry has also installed one DG set of capacity 60 KVA equipped with a canopy and stack of adequate ht. <span style="font-size: 13.5pt; mso-bidi-language: PA;">6.    The domestic effluent is being discharged on to land for plantation after passing through the septic tank. <span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #5d5d5d; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-ligatures: none; mso-fareast-language: EN-IN; mso-bidi-language: PA;">RO recommended that: <span style="font-size: 13.5pt;
