<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry was afforded an opportunity of personal hearing before CEE, Ludhiana on 11.09.2023, wherein it was decided as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">1. The consent to operate as sought by the industry under the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 be refused.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">2. Another opportunity of hearing be afforded to the industry for issuing directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">3. Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-3, Ludhiana shall visit the industry to verify the documents submitted by the industry during the hearing. He shall also confirm that the industry does not carry out PC/Cotton dyeing. He shall also technically comment on the contentions of the industry that the industry utilizes salt in the water softening plant.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Proceedings were issued vide letter no. 5779 dated 22.09.2023 (attached herewith).</p>
