<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; tab-stops: 36.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"> The Add. Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-1, Ludhiana brought out that the industry was granted consent to operate under the Air (prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH2/2023/21696877 dated 19/06/2023 and PSPCL authorities was issued directions u/s 31-A of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for restoration its electric supply temporarily upto 31.08.2023 with special condition that the industry shall get analyzed its stack emission sample from Board’s lab, within one month. </span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; line-height: 115%; tab-stops: 36.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry has now applied for renewal of consent to operate under the Air (prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; line-height: normal; background: white; margin: .15pt 0cm .0001pt 0cm;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman';">industry has installed two no. coal fired furnaces with separate flexible hoods and common wet scrubber as APCD and submitted the analysis report from private lab.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; line-height: 115%; tab-stops: 36.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry has not submitted the analysis report from the Board's lab.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0cm; margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: 35.45pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"> The industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 with hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer of the Board on 11.10.2023.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 13.8pt; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: red;"> </span><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">No one from industry attended the hearing</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0cm; margin-bottom: .0001pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; tab-stops: 36.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 11.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"> After hearing, officer of the Board and considering material facts on record, the Senior Environmental Engineer of the Board decided that another opportunity of personal hearing may be given to the industry.</span></p>
