<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">It is submitted that the industry is orange scale unit and was earlier visited by the officer of the Board on 25.05.2023 & the industry was found running without obtaining consent to operate of the Board under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and in violations of the said acts. Accordingly, the industry was issued show cause notice for violating the provisions of Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 with an opportunity of personal hearing before SEE, ZO-II, Ludhiana on 08.09.2023, wherein it was decided as under:-</span></p>
<ol style="margin-top: 0in;" start="1" type="1">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry shall remove all the observations as made by the Board, within 15 days.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry shall apply for obtaining consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981, within 15 days.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-3, Ludhiana shall visit the industry & verify the contentions made by the industry and process the application of the industry accordingly on merits. </span></li>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">Now the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 for the production of Namkeen/Snacks @ 840 Kgs/day, Rewari/Gachak @ 420 Kgs/day, Roasted Channa @ 400 Kgs/day, Sweet Rice Flakes @ 440 Kgs/day and Gud Channa @ 440 Kgs/day with the disposal of trade effluent @ 9.0 KLD Onto land for plantation after ETP and domestic effluent @ 1.8 KLD onto land for plantation. The industry has deposited consent fee of Rs. 1,10,300/- vide UTR no. INDBN20111239654 dated 21.11.2023 (Consisting of Rs. 99,000 under Water Act, 1974, Rs. 10800 as NOC regularization fee and Rs. 500 as application fee) Rs. 99,000/- vide UTR. no. INDBN20111239065 dated 21.11.2023 Air Act, 1981, which are adequate upto 30.09.2026 after deducting late fee penalty.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; line-height: 150%; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo3;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="X-NONE" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol;">·<span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-ansi-language: EN-IN;">The industry has submitted CLU certificate from CTP, Punjab bearing no. 4512 dated 13.07.2018 as per which the site of the industry falls under Industrial Land Use Zone & permission for CLU is granted for manufacturing of food & confectionery items. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif';">The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 24.11.2023 and observed that:- </span></p>

Plantation area is well maintained and is principally adequate to manage the quantum of discharge.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Tahoma','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;"> In view of the above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.09.2026 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board please.</span></p> |
