<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;">It is submitted that the kiln was granted consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 vide no. </span>CTOA/Renewal/MNS/2019/11701747 <span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;">dated 20.11.2019, which was valid upto 30.09.2024 for production of Bricks and Tiles @ 25,000 Nos./Day in the name of Sh. Rajinder Kumar (Proprietor).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;"> Now the industry has applied for obtaining renewal in consent to operate under Air (Prevention &Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and along with requisite fees and documents without any increase in production capacity.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;">The brick kiln has also submitted compliance of previous consent condition and CA Certificate mentioning cost of fixed assets of Rs. 48.89 lacs as on 01.12.2023. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; color: black;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 2;"> </span>The kiln has already deposited consent fee under Air Act, 1981, which is adequate upto 30.09.2024. Now, the kiln has deposited Rs. 20300/- Vide UTR. no. <br />SBIN323311285661 dated 07.11.2023 under the Air Act, 1981 and Rs. 43500/- Vide UTR. no. SBIN323311284542</span> dated 07.11.2023 under the Water Act, 1974, which is adequate upto 30.09.2031 under both the acts after adjusting the penalty under the Water Act, 1974.</p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;">The brick kiln was visited by the AEE of this office on 14.12.2023 and it was observed as under:</span></p>

However, no unauthorized fuel such as loose biomass<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>was observed.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; background: white; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt 1.25in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; color: black;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><strong><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;">The kiln has not stabilized the periphery road / movement area with keri/brick bats.</span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; background: white; margin: 0in 0in .0001pt 1.25in;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; color: black;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">6.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;">Underground septic tank has been provided for domestic effluent generated from the office area with arrangement of disposal onto land for plantation.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>From above, it is clear that the brick kiln is violating the provisions of the Air Act, 1981 and the notification dated 04.11.2022 passed by the Govt. of Punjab, Deptt. of Science, Technology & Environment and Board's memorandum no. SEE(HQ-2)/F.No. 129/2022/397 dated 22.11.2022.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; background: white;"><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; color: black;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>In view of above, may if approved, fresh consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.09.2031 and renewal of consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 applied by the brick kiln may be refused.</span></p> |
