<p style="text-align: justify;">It is submitted that the industry is a small-scale orange category unit and engaged in manufacturing of Namkeen, bakery products, milk products etc. Earlier the industry was granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981, both valid upto 30.09.2022 in the name of M/s New sartaj bikaneri namkeen bhandar.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier, the industry was issued notice u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of the Air Act, 1981 with opportunity of personal hearing before CEE, Ludhiana on 29.05.2023, wherein it was decided as under: -</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry shall submit B.G. of Rs. 1.0 Lac with validity of one year as an assurance to operate its ETP/STP regularly and to ensure to achieve the standards prescribed by the Board, within 07 days.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The industry shall maintain proper record of water consumption, discharge and chemicals used for treatment of effluent.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The industry shall apply for the consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 within 07 days.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->EE, RO shall re-collect the effluent sample of ETP/STP and process the consent application on merits upon the receipt of the same from the industry.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Now the industry has applied for consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 in the name of M/s Sartaj Food Industries Private Limited. The industry has deposited consent fee, which is adequate upto 30.09.2028 (Water) and 30.09.2025 (Air).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The industry was visited by officer of RO on 20.12.2023 and it was observed as under:-</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->The industry was in operation during the visit and engaged in manufacturing of Namkeen, bakery products, milk products etc.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->The industry has mainly three sections in the premises. (a) Namkeen Section (b) Bakery Section (c) Milk products</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed gas fired small bhatties in namkeen section and milk product section each with separate hood and adequate stack height.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->4. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed 02 nos. of electric operated baking ovens in bakery section.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->5. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed ETP for treatment of all the effluent generated from the premises. The treated effluent after ETP is being discharged into sewer, which is further treated in terminal STP installed at Mullanpur. The industry was earlier visited by the officer of RO on 26.06.2023 and effluent was collected from the final outlet of ETP. As per analysis report, the concentration of various parameters i.e. pH @ 7.8, TSS @ 29, TDS @ 978, COD @ 116, BOD @ 21 and oil & grease @ BDL, which are within the prescribed limits of the Board.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->6. <!--[endif]-->The industry is maintaining the record of ETP operation w.r.t. chemical consumption, water meter & energy meter readings.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->7. <!--[endif]-->The industry has installed one DG set of capacity 60 KVA, with canopy and adequate stack height.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->8. <!--[endif]-->The site of the industry falls in an industrial zone as per notified Master Plan (2007-2031), according to the DTP certificate issued to the industry vide no. 1655 dated 11.07.2017.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><!-- [if !supportLists]-->9. <!--[endif]-->The industry has submitted Bank Guarantee, which is valid upto 04.06.2024 as an assurance to operate its ETP/STP regularly and to ensure to achieve the standards prescribed by the Board.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of RO report, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.09.2028 and consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.09.2025 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.</p>
