<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">The industry was earlier granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide CTOW/Renewal/SAS/2023/23340724 dated 12.09.2023 having validity upto 31.12.2023 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/SAS/2023/23340701 dated 02.09.2023 having validity upto 30.06.2028 with certain conditions and additional conditions that: -</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 22.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">A.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall comply with the following decisions of the hearing given to it before the Senior Environmental Engineer (ZP-I) of the Board on 11/9/2023 in true letter and spirit :</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 45.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l1 level2 lfo3;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1)<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall execute revised agreement with CETP for enhanced trade effluent quantity from 2 KL/month to 5 KL/month within 15-days and shall submit the copy of the same to the O/o Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Regional Office, SAS Nagar.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-left: 45.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l1 level2 lfo3;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2)<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall store the trade effluent already generated from its process in an environmentally sound manner and shall not got lifted to any unauthorized persons/ discharge under any circumstance.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">Now, the industry has applied for obtaining renewal o<a name="_GoBack"></a>f consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 alongwith requisite documents. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">The industry has submitted CA certificate with the value of fixed assets from 64.07 lakh to Rs. 1.30 crore. The industry has already deposited Rs. 60,980/- vide UTRNo. AXIC232236127869 dated 11.08.2023 under Water Act, 1974. After deduction of late fee, NOC regularization fee, the consent fee under Water Act, 1974 is adequate till 30.06.2028.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">The industry has submitted compliance report of the previous consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & control of Pollution) Act, 1974 granted to it.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">The site was visited by AEE of this office on 16.01.2023 and during visit, it was observed that: </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l3 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry was in operation during visit and is carrying out zinc plating.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l3 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry is storing trade effluent in 02 no. tanks, one underground of size 2000 ltr and <span style="color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">one on ground of size 1000 ltr for storage of trade effluent. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l3 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">The industry has made an agreement with CETP operator i.e. M/s Bantech Water Pvt. Ltd., Channalon for lifting and treatment of trade effluent @ 2000/- ltr. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l3 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">The wastewater generated from the electroplating process is lifted by CETP and the domestic effluent being generated is discharged onto land for plantation after treatment through septic tank.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l3 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">5.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">As per the record being maintained by the industry the average effluent generation since Oct-2023 is about 2000 ltr/month and the industry has got lifted 6 KL of effluent to the CETP operator. The record regarding fresh water consumption and lifting to CETP operator is in consonance.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l3 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">6.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;">The industry has requested that their consents may be renewed and they will make fresh agreement of enhance capacity if the trade effluent generation increases 2 KL/month.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2028 with subject to suitable conditions and additional conditions that: -</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry will lift its trade effluent to CETP operator authorized by the Board and will submit agreement of enhance capacity to the Board if the trade effluent generation increases 2 KL/month.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall ensure maintain record regarding usage of fresh water viz-a-viz lifting to CETP operator on daily basis. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall take all possible measures to reduce water consumption and waste water, including exploring the possibility of re-utilizing the treated effluent as rinsing water in the surface treatment section. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall not discharge any effluent at any time or any other unauthorized place by any unauthorized means. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">5.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall discharge its domestic effluent onto land for plantation / irrigation after passing through septic tank. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">6.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry will stick to the production capacity viz-a-viz discharge mentioned in this consent and will not increase the same without the prior written permission of the Board. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">7.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall not install any boiler, furnace etc. without prior written permission from the Board. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">8.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall not start any additional process leading to increase in the pollution load from its premises. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">9.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry has been approved by the Board from pollution angle and the industry shall obtain the statutory clearances / permissions from all other concerned departments. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-left: 58.5pt; mso-add-space: auto; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo4;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">10.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry shall ensure the compliance of provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and/or any other environmental law applicable to him and Rules, Circulars & Directions issued by the Board from time to time.</span></p>
