<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">It is intimated that earlier the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide CTOW/Fresh/SAS/2023/23124601 dated 28.08.2023 having validity upto 31.12.2023 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Fresh/SAS/2023/23124554 dated 28.08.2023 having validity upto 30.06.2027 for manufacturing of Powder coating of Automobile light reflector @ 4000 No./Day, Lacquering/ Surface treatment of Automobile light Reflector @ 3500 No./Day, PCB Assembly @ 2000 No./Day and Trade Effluent @ 0.15 KLD - Lifted by M/s Bantech Water Pvt. Ltd for lifting of trade effluent @ 4000 ltr/month for further treatment & Domestic Effluent @ 2.4 KLD - After septic tank discharged onto land for plantation with subject to suitable conditions mentioned therein.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">Now, the industry has applied for obtaining renewal o<a name="_GoBack"></a>f consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for same production capacity alongwith requisite documents. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">The project proponent has submitted CA certificate with the value of fixed assets of Rs. 8.23 crore. The industry has already deposited Rs. 1,94,900/- vide UTR no. 32377355301DC dated 31.05.2023 under Water Act, 1974. After deduction of late fees, NOC regularization fee, the consent fee under Water Act, 1974 is adequate till 31.12.2027.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">The industry has submitted compliance report of the previous consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & control of Pollution) Act, 1974 granted to it.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">The site was visited by AEE of this office on 16.01.2024 and during visit, it was observed that: </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">1.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry is engaged in business of powder coating; dip lacquering & metalizing of sheet metal component for automobile industry on job work basis. The industry was in operation at the time of visit.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">2.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The manufacturing process engaged by the industry is given as under: Raw material, Press shop, De- greasing Powder coating, dip lacquering , metalizing, sealing finished goods.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">3.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry has installed 07 no. tanks for degreasing process. The industry has provided separate water meter with this section, however, the degreasing was not in operation during the visit and the same was not being operated.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">4.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry has also provided stripping section for removal of paint/powder coating from material, however the floor of the stripping section was completely damaged and the industry was advised to provide rust proof tiles in this area.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">5.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">The industry has not provided water meter in this section and the quantity of trade effluent generation could not be adjudged. As such no record regarding generation of trade effluent is being maintained by the industry and water auditing could not be carried out.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;"><!-- [if !supportLists]--><span lang="EN-IN" style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">6.<span style="font: 7.0pt 'Times New Roman';"> </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span lang="EN-IN">As such, the industry is not complying with the conditions of previous consent granted to it.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-IN">In view of above, it is recommended that the show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be issued to the industry for above said violations please. </span></p>
