<p style="text-align: justify;">Hard coke is being used in the Coupla Furnaces. No, other fuels can be used in the Coupla furnaces being costlier. As per the fuel policy of the State of Punjab, due to dynamics of cost and availability of fuels based on international markets, State Govt. in consultation with PPCB shall be empowered to permit usage of alternative fuels for a limited period based on techno-economic feasibility as per the prevailing scenario to ensure the sustainability of industrial sector in the State.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of facts above, approval is being given subject to the condition that the industry shall explore the possibility of using cleaner fuel in the Coupla Furnace.</p> |
