CTOA/Renewal/LDH3/2021/17078487 dated 29.12.2021, valid upto 30.06.2023 for Dyeing of all kind of Fabrics @ 1700 Kg/day and dyeing of garments @500 No./day.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Now, the industry applied for Varied ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for dyeing and finishing of polyester fabric @ 12.5 metric tonnes/day or dyeing and finishing of cotton/polyester-cotton (pc) @ 05 metric tonnes/day. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The case was examined and it was observed that the industry has not made agreement for disposal of boiler ash. </span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">The industry is violating the provisions of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 was issued to the industry with an opportunity of personal hearing before Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-2, Ludhiana on 09.01.2024 postponed to 16.01.2024.</span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Sh. <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Kanhaiya</span> Garg, Son of the G.M. attended the hearing.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He stated that the industry has made agreement for disposal of the fly ash. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 1.0in; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Raavi; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">After hearing representative of the industry, officer of Board and Senior Environmental Engineer of the Board decided that Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-3, Ludhiana shall visit the industry to verify its contentions and process the consent application accordingly on merits. </span></p>
