<p style="text-align: justify;">The note of AEE may kindly be perused. A perusal of the said note reveals as under:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1) The industry had installed centrifuge for treating the legacy sludge/effluent. However, due to high sludge content the centrifuge is not operating properly.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">2) There are operational issues in the MEE due to high TSS content of the legacy effluent and now the industry has submitted proposal regarding installation of pre-treatment before MEE, so as to remove the TSS from the influent before disposal into MEE.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">3) The industry has submitted copy of PO regarding installation of Effluent Pre Treatment Plant for removal of TSS from the effluent stream. As per the request letter submitted by the industry, it will install the pre-treatment ETP by Feb-2024 and has submitted that the legacy effluent will be removed by March-2024. Thereafter, the industry will carry out the modification of the equalization tank as suggested by the Board, which shall be completed by April-2024.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US">4) The industry has got lifted about 400 tons of old sludge to TSDF Nimbua and as observed during the visit about 30% of legacy effluent has been treated till date.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="color: #e03e2d;">From the above, the production capacity of the industry can not be enhanced from 60% to 80% as recommended by E.E, Regional Office, SAS Nagar.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In view of the above, it is recommended that</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1) The renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 may be granted for six months to operate the unit at 60% capacity only subject to suitable conditions, please.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">2) PSPCL authorities may be directed to restore the temporary electric connection to the industry for six months subject to suitable conditions and the additional conditions as proposed R.O, please. </p>
