<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 42.55pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">Notice u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 and u/s 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 was issued to industry with personal hearing before Worthy Chairman of the Board on 28.07.2023 wherein, it was decided as under:</span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 42.55pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry has now applied for obtaining renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974. </span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 42.55pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">The industry has mentioned ground water extraction @ 543.5 KLD. Considering 25 working days per month, ground water extraction will be 11337.5 KL/month, which is more than exempted quantity. It has not obtained permission from PWRDA.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; tab-stops: 36.0pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> Show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 has been issued to industry with hearing before the CEE, Ludhiana on </span><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">20.12.2023, wherein it was decided as under:-</span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">Show cause notice for refusal of 'Consent to Establish' (NOC) under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 has been issued to industry with hearing before the CEE, Ludhiana on 03.01.2024. But, No one from the industry attended the hearing. However, the industry vide its e-mail dated 03.01.2024 submitted that they are not able to attend hearing on 03.01.2024 and requested for another opportunity of personal hearing.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">After hearing, officer of the Board and considering background of the case and material facts on the record, the Chief Environmental Engineer of the Board decided that:-</span></p>

<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36.0pt; background: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">In view of above, the industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of 'Consent to Establish' (NOC) under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 with hearing before CEE Ludhiana on 23.01.2024.</span></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; tab-stops: 36.0pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"> Sh. Amit Jain, Director of the industry attended the hearing and submitted written reply which was taken on record. He submitted that they submitted that the industry is engaged in manufacturing of Cone and Fiber, Washing & Fabric. They are maintaining all the record of ETP sludge in register and record of water analysis as well. The industry has installed a paddy based boiler and using paddy pellets as fuel.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 32.15pt; line-height: 115%; margin: 0cm 0cm .0001pt 3.3pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';">As per analysis results of effluent sample collected on 03.11.2023, it was observed that the level of BOD was 36 against the prescribed limits of 30 mg/l and TDS was 7109 mg/l against the prescribed limits of 2100 mg/l, which is not representable, so re-sampling of trade effluent is required.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 115%; margin: 0cm 0cm .0001pt 3.3pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';"> After hearing the industry, officers of the Board and considering material facts on record, the Chairman of the Board decided as under: </span></p>
