It is intimated that the industry is small scale orange category unit. The industry was earlier granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Varied/LDH2/2020/13109633 dated 02/11/2020 valid upto 30/06/2025 & under Air Act, 1974 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH2/2021/15496613 dated 27/05/2021 valid upto 30/06/2025 subject to the certain conditions mentioned therein under the name and style of M/s Nand Mangal Steels Ltd., Industrial Area-c, P.o. Kanganwal, Ludhiana.
Now, the industry has applied for consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 alongwith requisite documents under new name M/s Ludhiana Steel Rolling Mills Limited Unit-III, Industrial Area-C Vill. Kanganwal, Distt. Ludhiana. The industry has submitted Memorandum of Directorship for incorporation of take over firm from M/s Nand Mangal Steels Ltd., Industrial Area-c, P.o. Kanganwal, Ludhiana.
The industry has deposited balance consent fees Rs. 29300/- vide UTR No. 64314752 dated 19.12.2023 (Rs. 10800/- as difference fee & Rs. 18000/- as NOC regularization fee) & Rs. 10800/- vide UTR No. 61199974 dated 19.12.2023 (Air)against the fixed assets of Rs. 568.28 Lacs which is adequate upto 30.06.2025.
Earlier, the industry was visited by EE alongwith AEE of this office on 16.01.2024 and during visit it was observed as under :-
1. The industry is engaged in business of manufacturing of sheet ingot by using iron scrap and same was in operation.
2. The industry has installed 1 no. induction furnace of capacity @ 6 TPH connected of 02 crucibles and provided penta bag filter house as APCD alongwith sampling arrangements with adequate stack height.
3. The industry has provided side hood as per design of PSCST, Chandigarh.
4. The industry has submitted analysis report air emission sample of Induction furnace of capacity @ 6 TPH, which was collected and analyzed by the Board lab on 16.01.2024. As per the analysis report, the concentration of SPM is 14 mg/NM3 against 150 mg/NM3 which is within the permissible limits.
5. The industry has installed one D.G set of capacity 82 KVA, with canopy.
6. The compliance to the SOPs laid for such kind of induction furnace were verified during the visit and found to be correct as per site visit.
7. There is no generation of any kind of trade effluent from the process and only domestic effluent is being discharged onto land for plantation.
8. The industry is complying with the previous consent conditions granted under Air Act, 1981.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & under Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2025, please.
