The industry was issued SCN for refusal of consent with opportunity of personal hearing given by Chairman of the Board on 04.01.2024. During the hearing Competent Authority of the Board was decided as under:-
1. The industry shall submit an unertaking, within 7 days, to the effect that it shall install pre-treatment plant to achieve the standards as per the inlet design parameters at the CETP as per DPR.
2. The consent shall be considered only after compliance of decision at Sr. no. 1, above.
3. The industry shall switch over to ZLD technology, within one year as committed during the hearing.
In compliance to the decisions of the hearing, the industry vide letter dated 11.01.2024 submitted the undertaking to the effect that the industry shall achieve inlet standards for CETP 15 MLD and in light of the inlet design parameters if any notified by the Board in future. The industry has also submitted that it shall also be evaluating the feasibility of the setting up of ZLD.
In light of above and as per the decision of the hearing before worthy Chairman of the Board, may if approved, the consent to operate under Water Act 1974 be renewed to the industry for a period of one year with usual conditions and special conditions as under:
1. The industry should either take measures to control its inlet parameters by good practices and selection of good chemicals for processing or shall operate and maintain its existing effluent treatment plant (ETP), regularly and efficiently, so as to achieve the inlet effluent standards of CETP as per DPR.
2. The industry shall switch over to ZLD technology, within one year as committed during the hearing before Chairman of the Board on 04.01.2023.
