• It is intimated that the petroleum depots large scale red category unit and was engaged in the process of storage of oil at site.
• The petroleum depot was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 valid upto 31.03.2024.
• The petroleum depot was granted consent to establish (NOC for expansion) under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981, which are valid 04.07.2023 for storage of HSD BS VI @ 12320 Kilo Liters/Day, MS BS VI @ 5110 Kilo Liters/Day & Ethanol @ 790 Kilo Liters/Day.
• Now, the petroleum depot has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 for the storage of HSD BS VI @ 12320 Kilo Liters/Day, MS BS VI @ 5110 Kilo Liters/Day, Ethanol @ 790 Kilo Liters/Day through OCMMS of the Board.
• The depot was visited by AEE of this office on 01.02.2024 and observed as under:-
1. The petroleum depot was in operation.
2. There are 06 nos. over headed and 08 nos. underground oil storage tanks for the storage of oil at site and added 2 Nos. Ethanol under Ground (UG) tanks of 180 KL capacity each (Total 16 tanks).
3. The petroleum depot has installed 3 no. fire fighting engines with proper stack.
4. The depot has installed 3 nos. D.G sets and all are fitted with canopy and adequate stack at site.
5. There is no generation of trade effluent, only domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer. In the depot, mock drill was also carried out once in month and effluent generated during drill was also discharged into sewer.
6. The petroleum depot is complying with the provisions under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the depot upto 30.06.2026 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
