It is intimated that the HCF is 30 bedded.
Earlier, the HCF was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/JAL2/2022/19287726 dated 14.07.2022 valid upto 31.03.2025 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/JAL2/2022/18431405 dated 14.07.2022 valid upto 31.03.2025 with suitable conditions mentioned therein.
Now, the hospital has applied for varied of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for 30 beds with requisite documents.
The hospital has deposited Rs. 10000/- vide UTR no. N363232805748189 dated 29.12.2023 under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Rs. 10000/- vide UTR no. N363232805745612 dated 29.12.2023 under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, adequate upto 31.03.2030.
The hospital was visited by officers of the Board on 01.02.2024 and it was observed as below:-
1. The HCF is a general hospital.
2. The HCF has provided final room for storage of bio medical waste. However, soiled cotton was found stored in general waste near the storage room.
3. Further, uncut plastic bottels were found stored in red bin in final room.
4. Hypo chlorite treatment unit in lab was found bye-passed and the hypo storage container above the unit was found empty indicating that hypo treatment is not given.
5. Further record of hypo used is not maintained, further supporting the above fact.
6. Further, hypo containers of hypo treatment unit in O.T. was found empty.
7. D.G. set is provided with canopy and adequate stack height.
In view of above it is recommended that:-
1. Show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and authorization under Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 be issued.
2. Consent to operate under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the HCF upto 30.09.2028 please.
