File Note: The industry was given personal hearing before the Chief Environmental Engineer, Ludhiana on 23.01.2024 w.r.t notice to issue directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, wherein, it was decided as under: 1. The industry shall get the trade effluent lifted to re-processor regularly. 2. The industry shall maintain the record of water consumption in the process and trade effluent got lifted to re-processor. 3. The Environmental Engineer Regional Office shall visit the industry to verify the submission of the industry and submit recommendations in the matter. To verify the compliance, undersigned has visited the industry on 02.02.2024 and observed as under: 1. The industry was in operation during visit & engaged in manufacturing of H.B wire & Cycle part and involved in pickling & zinc plating process. 2. The industry has made an agreement with M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (CETP) for lifting its trade effluent generated from zinc plating and pickling section @ 4000 Ltr/month and 3000 ltr/month. 3. The industry has stopped lifting its trade effluent to re-processor as it is not using sulphuric acid in pickling process. 4. The industry has installed two water meters at the pipeline in the process area of zinc plating having reading 33.70 KL and pickling process having reading 25.10 KL noted during visit. 5. The industry has provided two storage tanks for effluent of capacity 4000 Ltr (Zinc plating section) and 3000 ltr (Pickling section). 6. Lastly, it has got lifted effluent @ 3000 ltr from pickling section to CETP vide R no. 463872 dated 19.01.2024 and @ 4000 ltr from zinc plating section to CETP vide R no. 499987 dated 24.01.2024 7. The industry has maintained separate records of water meter readings regarding consumption & effluent lifted to M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana for zinc plating section and pickling section. 8. There is no source of air pollution i.e boiler/furnace. 9. The industry has installed one DG set of capacity 60 KVA with canopy & adequate stack height. In view of above, it is recommended that the industry may be granted 'Consent to Operate' under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 upto 30.06.2028 with suitable conditions of the Board.
