It is intimated that the industry is a small scale orange category unit.
The industry was earlier granted consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 Vide no. CTOA/Varied/JAL1/2023/22084754 dated 29.05.2023 valid upto 30.06.2028 for manufacturing of Pipe Fittings @5.3Metric Tonnes/Day by using Pig Iron and Scrap @5.6Metric Tonnes/Day and Brass ingot and scarp @ 1 Metric Tonnes/Day as raw material.
Now, the industry has applied for varied of consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for manufacturing of Pipe Fitting @ 5.3 MTD and Valves & Cocks @ 1000 nos/day by using Pig Iron And Scarp @ 5.6 MTD and Brass ingot and scarp @ 1 Metric Tonnes/Day as raw material and added one powder coating machine, detail of the same is as under :
1. The industry has already deposited Rs.72000/- Air Act, 1981, Rs.10800/- as NOC fee, Rs. 500/- form fee UTR. NoP125230239139181 dated 05.05.2023, Rs. 2200/- NOC fee vide R No. P030240296677919 dated 30.01.2024against the fixed assets of Rs. 268.41 lacs, which are adequate upto 30.06.2028.
2. The fixed assets of the industry has been increased from Rs. 256.40 lacs to Rs. 268.41 lacs. The industry has submitted list of machinery addition as per detail the industry has installed one powder coating machine and one drill machine in its premises. The industry has submitted adequate NOC regularization fee for this increase.
The industry was visited by the AEE (OS) of this office on 08.01.2024 and observed that:
1. The industry was in operation during visit and engaged in the manufacturing of Pipe Fitting and Valves & Cocks.
2. The industry has installed 1 no. induction furnace of capacity 0.5 TPH with bag filter house as APCD and adequate stack height.
3. The industry has installed 4 nos. annealing furnaces of capacity 3 MTD with adequate stack height.
4. The industry has installed 2 nos. galvanizing furnaces of capacity 2 MTD with adequate stack height.
5. The industry has installed 2 nos. shot blasting machines of capacity 2 MTD with Bag filter house provided as APCD and adequate stack.
6. The industry has installed 1 no. coal fired pit furnace with hood and adequate stack height.
7. The industry has now added one powder coating machine in its premises.
8. The industry has also installed 2 nos. D.G sets of capacity 125 KVA and 75 KVA with canopies and adequate stack.
9. The industry is complying with the provisions of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
The industry is a small scale orange category unit and competency to decide such type of case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Jalandhar.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that varied consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2027 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
