The note of the Regional Office has been examined and observed that the industry has submitted reply of the Show cause notice for refusal of the consent to operate applied by the industry under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 issued vide Board's letter no. 10277 dated 16.01.2024. However, Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Rupnagar has recommended the application without verification of the compliances at site.
As such, Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Rupnagar may be asked to visit the industry, check the compliances made by it at site as contended by the industry in its reply and to submit the report with concrete recommendations. Also, it is required to clarify as to whether the industry has deposited Environmental Compensation amounting to Rs. 10 lacs and BG of Rs. 10 lacs as an assurance in compliance of the hearing given before the Hon'ble Chairman on 02.06.2023, please.
