The proposed unit is a small scale green category cold storage unit.
The project proponent has applied for obtaining Consent to Establish (NOC) under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 to the Board through OCMMS of the Board for the establishment of a new cold storage unit at Village Virk, Tehsil Phillaur, Distt. Jalandhar under green category.
The industry has deposited NOC fees of Rs. 14400/- vide Receipt No. 10919776 Dated 18.01.2024, which is adequate for one year.
The project proponent has submitted land use classification from DTP, Jalandhar vide no. 1062 dated 03.07.2023. (Copy attached)
The project proponent has submitted undertaking that industry will use only Freon gas in cold store.
The Project Proponent has submitted certificate issued by DTP, Jalandhar vide letter no. 1062 dated 03/07/2023 and reproduced as under:-

To verify the facts, the site was visited by officer on 06.02.2024 and it was observed as under: -
1. The site is located in the revenue estate of Village Virk, Tehsil Phillaur, Distt. Jalandhar.
2. The project proponent has proposed to use 1.0 KLD of water for domestic use, thus only domestic effluent @ 0.3 KLD will be discharged onto land for plantation after passing through septic tank. There will be no generation of trade effluent at site. Entire cooling water will be re-circulated.
3. The project proponent has proposed to install 1 no. of D.G set of capacity 125 KVA with canopy and stack of adequate height.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that the consent to establish (NOC) for cold storage unit at its proposed site located in revenue estate of at Village Virk, Tehsil Phillaur, Distt. Jalandhar under green category may be granted to the industry for one year with suitable conditions and special conditions that:-
1. The industry shall use only Freon gas in cold store as mentioned in DTP certificate at condition no. 2.
2. The industry will obtain permission from Central Ground Water Authority for extraction of ground water.
3. The industry shall not operate its unit with obtaining CTO under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 from the Board.
