1) The subject cited industry is a Railway Goods Sheds at Railway Station Khurdpur.
2) The industry has applied for obtaining fresh consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board.
3) As per fixed assets reports of Assistant Commissioner, Manager, Northern Railway, Ferozepur. The value of fixed assets is around 4.28 lacs.
4) As per application of the shed, it was commissioned in the year 1959 and the railway shed has deposited fee from the year 10.10.1994 onwards. The industry has deposited Rs. 7000/- under Air Act, 1981 and Rs. 700/- NOC fee vide UTR/Reference No. SBIN523195742397 dated 14.07.2023, Rs. 25000/- vide No. SBIN323283368296 dated 10.10.2023, which is adequate upto 31.12.2037.
5) As per application form there is no trade effluent generation and no boiler/furnace.
6) As per application form it is a godown near Railway Station Khurdpur. There is no manufacturing activity at the godown and only loading and unloading of goods are being done.
Recommendation:-
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that Consent under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 may be granted to the Railway Goods Shed Khurdpur upto 31.12.2029 with appropriate conditions as per the policy of the Board and with following special conditions:-
a. The consent is granted based on the document uploaded by the Railway Goods Sheds and its is not for the Railway station Khurdpur and the Railway station, Khurdpur shall obtain separate consents under the Water Act,1974 and Air Act,1981 from the Board .
b. The Railway Goods Shed shall not operate any locomotive workshop, washing of coaches or any other polluting activity without the appropriate pollution control devices and without prior approval of the Board.
c. The Railway Goods Shed shall not change its manufacturing process without prior Board’s approval.
d. The Railway Goods Shed shall adopt solid waste management at its site as per the Solid waste Management rules 2016.
e. The railway department shall stabilize the approach road at site immediately.
f. The railway department shall provide the water sprinkling system to avoid the dust emission at site.
