RO has reported that earlier, the unit was granted consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/ASR/2020/12306985 dated 02/05/2020, which is valid up to 31/03/2024. Now, the unit has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for operating 3 no. DG sets of capacity 500 KVA each,2 no. DG sets of capacity 1010 KVA each and 2 no. DG sets of capacity 750 KVA each along with compliance of the previous granted consents, CA Certificate. The unit has deposited Rs. 22,56,000/- vide UTR.No. SBIN523356481327 dtd 22/12/2023 as Consent fee under Air Act, 1981, which is adequate up to31/03/2028. The unit has submitted a request letter regarding the compliance report of the special conditions imposed during previous consent granted that “we would like to inform you that we have awarded new tender for the monitoring of noise levels at various locations like DG sets, various ambient locations surrounding Airport, etc, Sanction Order enclosed. The new laboratory will be finalized very shortly and various noise level reports will be submitted to you as & when we receive the same” the unit has also submitted a copy of sanction order in this regard. The Airport was visited by officer of this office on 08/02/2023 and observed that:- 1. The unit is a commercial international airport and was in operation. 2. 3 no. DG sets of capacity 500 KVA each and each of them are provided with canopy. 3. 2 no. DG sets of capacity 1010 KVA each and each of them are provided with canopy. 4. 2 no. DG sets of capacity 750 KVA each and each of them are provided with canopy. It is further intimated that the unit is complying with the conditions of consents granted earlier under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. The unit falls in Red category in the Large-scale sector and competency to decide the case lies with the Chairman of the Board.
RO has recommended that the consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981may be granted to the unit upto 31/03/2028 with suitable terms & conditions with special condition that the unit shall submit report regarding the monitoring of noise levels at various locations like DG sets, various ambient locations surrounding Airport, etc within 03 months after issuance of this consent.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the unit up to 31/03/2028 with suitable terms & conditions along with special condition that the unit shall submit report regarding the monitoring of noise levels at various locations like DG sets, various ambient locations surrounding Airport, etc within 03 months after issuance of this consent.
