• The industry is a small scale orange category unit.
• The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 Vide No. ROJ/JAL/W/F-02 Dated 17.04.2001 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 Vide No. ROJ/JAL/W/F-02 Dated 17.04.2001 for manufacturing of Hawai Chappal @ 1500 Pcs./Day by using Raw Rubber @150 Kgs/day, China clay @ 200 Kgs/day, Calcium Caronate @ 400 Kgs/day, Zinc oxide @ 15 Kgs/day, Steric acid @ 12 Kgs/day and EVA @ 120 Kgs/day as raw material under green category.
• Now, the ,industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for manufacturing of Hawai Chappal @ 6000 nos./Day by using Raw Rubber @150 Kgs/day, China clay @ 200 Kgs/day, Calcium Caronate @ 400 Kgs/day, Zinc oxide @ 15 Kgs/day, Steric acid @ 12 Kgs/day and EVA @ 120 Kgs/day as raw material under orange category and detail of the same as under:-
1. The industry has deposited Rs. 29300/- (i.e Rs. 27000/- under Air Act 1981, Rs. Rs. 1800/- NOC regularization fee) vide UTR No. 855510629 dated 03.02.2024 and Rs. 27000/- Vide UTR No. 390360982 dated 03.02.2024 under Water Act, 1974 against the fixed assets of Rs. 24.10 Lacs, which are adequate upto 31.03.2026 including 500 % penalty.
2. The industry has submitted approved building plan from competent person under director of factories act, Punjab.
3. The industry has already uploaded the area classification certificate issued by DTP cum PIO, Jalandhar to federation of Jalandhar Industrial & Traders Association Dada Colony Jalandhar vide memo no. 348 dated 03.03.2014 stating that Saini Colony, Dada Colony area falls under general industrial zone as per Master Plan, Jalandhar.
4. The industry has submitted partnership deed, rent agreement of Plot No. 99, plot No. 120, and plot No. 121 with the application.
• The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 08.02.2024 and it was observed that:-
• The industry was in operation and is engaged in the manufacturing of hawali Chappals.
• The industry has installed 2 no. wood fired baby boiler of capacity @ 1 T/day and 500 kg/day with stack.
• The industry has installed one DG set of capacity 125 KVA with canopy.
• There is no source of trade effluent generation and domestic effluent is discharged into sewer.
• The industry is complying with the conditions of granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
The industry is a small scale orange category unit and competency to lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal office, Jalandhar.
Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.09.2025 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
