File Note: It is intimated that the industry is a small scale green category unit. The industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS for the product manufacturing of PP jali. The industry has submitted the undertaking regarding purchase of moulding machine as the proof of date of commissioning i.e. March, 2023. The industry has submitted approved building plan from architect approved by Director of Factories, Punjab. The industry is located in industrial zone as per gazzete notification. The industry has deposited Rs. 14500/- vide UTR No. 154811266 dated 08.02.2024 as water consent fees & Rs. 14500/- vide UTR No. 475172252 dated 08.02.2024 as air consent fees & Rs. 2900/- as NOC regularization fees, which is adequate upto 31.12.2027 against the fixed assets of Rs. 57.00/- Lacs under VDS scheme. Now, the industry has applied for fresh of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 alongwith requisite documents. The site of industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 13.02.2024 and it was observed as under:- 1. The industry was in operation and engaged in manufacturing of PP Jali by using Virgin PP granuals (dana). 2. The industry has installed moulding machine. 3. There is no generation of trade effluent from the process and domestic effluent is discharged into sewer. 4. The industry has not installed any D.G set in its premises. 5. The industry has falls in industrial mix zone. 6. The industry falls in category no. 3068 under green category. Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be granted upto 31.12.2027 with usual conditions and special conditions :- 1. The industry shall not manufacture/use/stock/sale of single use plastic items banned by the Govt of India w.e.f 1.7.2022. 2. The industry shall not manufacture/use/stock/sale of any carry bag banned by the Punjab Govt. w.e.f 1.4.2016. 3. The industry shall promote use of alternatives of single use plastics (SUP) and awareness to discourage use of plastic, through their Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) activities. 4. The industry shall ensure that there are no usages of single use plastic-thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches/water cups, plates, forks, spoons, straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic thermocol or any other non-biodegradable material in the premises 5. The industry shall properly handle and manage the solid wastages as per the provisions of the Municipal Solid Waste Rules 2016 and ensure that the solid waste is segregated & disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. 6. The industry shall get the EPR registration as per the EPR guidelines launched on April, 05, 2022 at http://eprplastic.cpcb.gov.in/plastic/ within 30 days, if applicable. 7. The industry shall not throw burn or bury any solid wastes in open, outside premises or in drain / water bodies. Competency Environmental Engineer, Regional Office.
