• It is intimated that the industry is a medium scale red category food processing unit.
• The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 which are valid upto 31.03.2023 for manufacturing of Sarson ka Saag @ 3500 MTD Other Ethinic food & Spices @ 3600 MTD and Process Honey @ 2800 MT/Year by using Leafy Vegetable @ 9000 MTD, Pulses, Tomato, Onion, Ginger, Garlic, Cheese, Pease, and Spices, (ingredients) @ 6000 MTD, unprocessed Honey @ 3000 MT/Year under red category.
• Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for manufacturing of Sarson ka Saag @ 3500 MTD Other Ethinic food & Spices @ 3600 MTD and Process Honey @ 2800 MT/Year by using Leafy Vegetable @ 9000 MTD, Pulses, Tomato, Onion, Ginger, Garlic, Cheese, Pease, and Spices, (ingredients) @ 6000 MTD, unprocessed Honey @ 3000 MT/Year under red category and detail of the same is as under:-
1. The industry has deposited Rs. 56400/- vide UTR No. IDIBH23201137147 dated 20.07.2023 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 14100/- vide UTR No. IDIBH23201142954 dated 20.07.2023 penalty for late application submission and Rs. 56400/- vide UTR No. IDIBH23201142851 dated 20.07.2023 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 14100/- vide UTR No. IDIBH23201142906 dated 20.07.2023 penalty for late application submission against the fixed assets of Rs. 2553.22 lacs, which are adequate upto 31.03.2024.
2. The industry has submitted compliance report of the previous granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
• The industry was visited by officers of this office on 22.12.2023 and observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation and is engaged in the process of manufacturing of eatable items.
2. The industry has installed 02 no. boilers of capacity 02 TPH and 04 TPH with separate cyclones as APCD.
3. During visit, the stack emission samples collected by this office and as per analysis report received from Zonal lab, Jalandhar the concentration of SPM is 238 mg/nm3 which is found within the prescribed limits of the Board.
4. The industry has installed 3 nos. Of D.G sets of capacity 350 KVA, 125 KVA and 40 KVA with canopy.
5. The industry has installed ETP to treat its trade effluent generated from waste of vegetable & Pan washing etc.
6. The industry has also installed separate ETP for the treatment of effluent generated from honey plant. However, same were not in operation due to less effluent in the collection tank.
7. The industry has raised clarification regarding that the value of fixed assets of the industry have decreased from Rs. 28,92,21,015/- lacs to Rs 25,53,22,646/- total Rs. 3,38,98,369/- decrease. But the industry has not given any reply of the clarification till date.
Recommendation: - Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2024 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
