It is recommended that Fresh 'Consent to Operate' under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted for short term of six months with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board and special condition that the industry will not manufacture carry bags as well as any other product, which has been banned by the Govt. of Punjab vide notification no. 5/18/2016-4SS4/692728/1 dated 18/02/2016 and Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India vide notification dated 12/08/2021.
2. Bank Guarantee of suitable amount may be imposed on the unit as an assurance that the industry will not manufacture plastic carry bags and banned SUP and shal comply with the provisions of Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2022
3.Directions under 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be issued to PSPCL authority for temporary restoration of electric connection for short period of six months. |
