It is submitted that in a reference to the industry reply dated 07.02.2024, the record of water consumption and discharge of the industry of last 6 months has been checked and found that the total water consumption (which include domestic use consumption and water consumption in humidification plant) by the industry from August, 2023 to January, 2024 is 50880 KLD and corresponding trade effluent discharge through ETP is 16921 KLD, domestic discharge through STPs is 20734 KLD and remaining water was consumed in humidification plant. The water consumption in dyeing process is only 30%. The month wise details attached. From this, it has been found that the water consumption and discharge by the industry is in-consonance which match with the reply given by the industry. Further, no specific guidelines regarding installation of ZLD has been framed by the Board for the textile units.
In view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for manufacturing of Cotton & synthetic blended yarn@ 47 MTD and Dyed fibre / Yarn @ 8.0 TPD by using Cotton, Synthetic Fibre, Chemicals & Dyes @ 55 MTD as raw material upto 31.12.2025 (upto adequacy of fee) subject to suitable conditions.
