It is submitted that the industry is a medium scale orange category unit and is engaged in the process of eatable items at site. The industry has already installed one ETP of capacity 45 KLD for Saag plant, one ETP of capacity 20 KLD for honey processing plant separately. Now, the industry has installed a new ETP of capacity 250 KLD, which is presently under stabilization. During last visit to the industry, the honey processing plant of the industry was also not in operation due to non-availability of orders.
The industry has also installed STP for treatment of domestic effluent generated at site and during visit; no effluent was seen at final outlet of STP. The industry has provided about 3 acre under plantation area. As per application of the industry, the industry has applied for renewal of CTO for the trade effluent @ 300 KLD and domestic effluent @ 30 KLD separately for which the industry was granted last consent from the Board.
Now, the industry has intimated to this office vide their request letter dated 23.02.2024 that presently fresh water intake of the industry is about 170-200 KLD and after successfully commissioning of newly installed ETP of capacity 250 KLD, the industry will dismantle the existing ETP of capacity 45 KLD, 20 KLD and STP of capacity 30 KLD respectively and will treat entire effluent in the newly installed ETP and shall maintain only single outlet at site and requested to grant the CTO to the industry for the discharge of trade effluent @ 230 KLD and domestic effluent @ 20 KLD respectively (copy enclosed).
In view of above, it is recommended that the present CTO may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2024 with the discharge of trade effluent @ 230 KLD and domestic effluent @ 20 KLD with usual conditions and with special condition that :
1. The industry shall commission its newly installed ETP which is under stabilization within 15 days.
2. The industry shall submit plan/schedule for collection of effluent sampling as and when the newly ETP upgraded.
3. The industry shall intimate to the Board regarding re-commissioning of its honey processing plant.
4. The industry shall install water flow meter with the effluent treatment plants and fresh water consumption within 7 days and shall maintain the daily record of the same.
