It is submitted that earlier the industry was given personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer (ZP-1) of the Board on 25.01.2024 and it was decided as under: -
1. Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Regional Office, SAS Nagar may be asked to visit the industry immediately to verify the compliance made by the industry and thereafter submit the report alongwith recommendations.
2. The consent to operate applications of the industry shall be decided after the receipt of report from Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Regional Office, SAS Nagar.
In compliance of the hearing decisions, the site was visited by the officer of the Board on 24.02.2024 and it was observed that the industry has now renovated the stripping section and has now provided rust proof tiles in the area. Further, separate water meter has been provided for the wet process and the industry has now maintaining record of the generation and lifting of trade effluent.
As such the industry is now complying with the observations of the earlier visit and decisions of hearing given to it.
In the view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be renewed upto 31.12.2027 with similar conditions as imposed in the original consent granted to it and additional condition that the industry will properly maintain the area earmarked for wet process and keep daily record regarding generation of trade effluent.
