While processing the case, it has been observed that the proposal of the unit for partial utilization of paddy straw as fuel is not in line with the Government of Punjab, Department of Science, Technology and Environment's letter dated 27/08/2021 for encouraging utilization of paddy straw as fuel, vide which at S. No. A(1)(c), it has been mandated for new distilleries and breweries coming up in the State to install PaddyStraw fuel based-boiler. Thus, the incomplete application of the industry is hereby returned at this stage with request to resubmit its proposal for installation of boiler in line with the Para 1.9.1.C of the approval of Council of Ministers dated 26.08.2021, regarding encouraging utilization of paddy straw as fuel.
