Sir, the industry is a small scale red category unit and was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 valid upto 30/06/2023 for the manufacturing of Electroplating of cycle parts @ 6000 Nos./day, B.B Ring @ 20000 Nos/day aloongwith agreement with CETP operator for disposal of trade effluent @ 8000 ltr/month.
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining ‘consent to establish'/ (NOC expansion) under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 for Electroplating of Tent Furniture chairs on job basis @ 250 Nos./day alongwith existing Electroplating of cycle parts @ 6000 Nos./day, B.B. Ring @ 20000 Nos/day. For addition of electroplating line it has revised its agreement with CETP operator for disposal of trade effluent @ 15000 ltr/month.
Accordingly, the site was visited by RO on 21/02/2024 and it was reported as under:-
1. The industry was in operation.
2. The industry has installed power presses and other general machinery like lathe, drill etc. The industry has installed electroplating section.
3. It has signed an agreement with CETP @ 15000 ltr/month for disposing off its trade effluent.
4. The industry has provided 2 no. storage tanks of 3500 Ltrs and 5000 Ltrs for storage of its trade effluent.
5. The industry is maintaining the record of water consumption and trade effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana and as per the record the industry is discharging its trade effluent to M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana regularly.
6. The industry falls in designated focal point.
7. The industry has submitted approved building plan from architect approved by Director of Factories, Punjab.
In view of report of RO, it is recommended that ‘consent to establish'/ (NOC expansion) under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted for one year with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board, please.
