The industry was earlier granted 'Consent to Established' under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 for setting up a unit for manufacturing of ALL TYPE OF BATTERIES @ 300 Numbers/Day, MANUFACTURING OF BATTERIES PLATES @ 20000 Numbers/Day by using of LEAD INGOT @ 2.7 T/day, LEAD OXIDE @ 2.0 T/day, RED LEAD OXIDE @ 1 T/day, BATTERIES SEPARATORS @ 9000 Numbers/Day, BATTERY CONTAINERS @ 300 Numbers/Day, STICKERS @ 600 Numbers/Day, SULPHURIC ACID @ 250 Kgs/day, CHEMICALS @ 50 Kgs/day, PACKING MATERIALS @ 300 Kgs/day, TUBULAR BAGS @ 2700 Numbers/Day, DEMINERALIZED WATER (D.M WATER) @ 500 Liter/day vide no. CTE/Fresh/LDH1/2022/20317130 dated 22.11.2022 valid upto 21.11.2023 with suitable terms and conditions mentioned therein.
Now the industry has applied for consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for manufacturing of ALL TYPE OF BATTERIES @ 300 Numbers/Day, MANUFACTURING OF BATTERIES PLATES @ 20000 Numbers/Day by using of LEAD INGOT @ 2.7 T/day, LEAD OXIDE @ 2.0 T/day, RED LEAD OXIDE @ 1 T/day, BATTERIES SEPARATORS @ 9000 Numbers/Day, BATTERY CONTAINERS @ 300 Numbers/Day, STICKERS @ 600 Numbers/Day, SULPHURIC ACID @ 250 Kgs/day, CHEMICALS @ 50 Kgs/day, PACKING MATERIALS @ 300 Kgs/day, TUBULAR BAGS @ 2700 Numbers/Day, DEMINERALIZED WATER (D.M WATER) @ 500 Liter/day.
The industry has deposited Rs. 32400/- vide no. 947547138 dated 27.02.2024 under Water Act, 1974, Rs. 32400/- vide no. 947816275 dated 27.02.2024 under Air Act, 1981, adequate upto 31.03.2030.
The industry has filled online application form and submitted, Proprietor certificate, Process chart, latest CA certificate, Site plan location plan, letter issued by DTP Ludhiana bearing no. 1390 dated 08.06.2022, Rent deed, Completion certificate of ETP and APCD.
The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 27.02.2024 & observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during the visit and engaged in the manufacturing of All Type of Batteries and Manufacturing of Batteries Plates.
2. The industry has installed 07 nos. grid casting melting furnace of capacity 300 kg/heat (each). Bag house followed by double stage Wet scrubber has been provided as APCD along with stack of adequate height and proper sampling arrangements.
3. The industry has installed 2 nos. D.G set of capacity 125 KVA and 200 with adequate stack height.
4. The industry has installed ETP of capacity 3 KLD for recirculating effluent generated from Batteries Plates Machine Washing and wet Scrubber.
5. The treated trade effluent is re-circulated through ETP and domestic effluent is being discharged onto land for plantation through septic tank.
6. The industry is complying with the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
In view of the above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted up to 31.03.2030 with suitable terms and conditions, as per the policy of the Board.
