It is submitted that the industry is small scale red category unit and is engaged in process of hot dip galvanizing.
The industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 through OCMMS for manufacturing of auto parts/cycle parts/fasteners and all items (job work of zinc hot galvanizing) @ 2 MTD.
The industry has deposited consent fee of amounting to Rs. 7000/- vide R. no. N289232690727117 dated 16.10.2023 under the Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 7000/- vide R.no. N289232690725632 dated 16.10.2023 under the Air Act, 1981 and Rs.1400/- vide R.no. N289232690742924 dated 16.10.2023, which is adequate upto 19.11.2027.
The industry was visited by officer of this office on 16.02.2024 and it was observed as under: -
1. The industry was in operation during visit and the industry is located in designated area i.e. focal point, phase-7.
2. The industry is engaged in process of hot dip galvanizing. The industry has installed 02 no. hot dip galvanizing furnace provided with separate hoods and separate wet scrubber as APCD.
3. The industry has also engaged in pickling of nut and bolts with spent sulphuric acid. The industry has made an agreement with the M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Unit-2), Village Kohara, Ludhiana for lifting of trade effluent @ 7000 ltr/month.
4. The industry is maintaining the record of total water consumption viz a viz effluent lifted.
5. The industry has installed a water meter in process area and reading noted was 34.9 KL. As per record reading on 18.10.2023 was 10.11 KL and industry has consumed fresh water @ 24.79 KL and has lifted out 20 KL during this period and approx. 1500 ltr was lying stored in storage tank and record of the industry has been found in order.
6. The domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.
7. No D.G. set has been installed.
8. The industry has submitted rent deed as proof of date of commissioning i.e. 19.05.2023.
9. The industry has submitted approved building plan from the Competent Person of the Director of Factories.
The industry is complying with the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
In view of the above, it is recommended that Consent to Operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry up to 30.06.2027 with suitable conditions as per policy of Board.
