The industry has submitted reply of the SCN issued and submitted that the Mall is not operational hence installed 02 no. of D.G. sets of capacity 1000 KVA each. are also not in use. D.G. sets will be fitted with canopy and the area of D.G. sets will be provided with acoustic materials well in advance before its operations.
It is intimated that the shopping mall has only source of air pollution i.e. D.G sets for which the industry has applied for obtaining consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 from the Board and the D.G sets installed are not provided with canopy and any acoustic material in the room where the D.G set are installed. There is possibility that the industry can operate its D.G sets for any purpose at any time, therefore it required to provide canopies to D.G sets or acoustic material in the rooms before obtaining consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 from the Board.
It is therefore recommended that application applied by the industry may be refused please.
