The above note may kindly be perused.
In connection with the application of the promoter company for obtaining consent under the Air Act, 1981, the mall was visited by officers of this office on 21.02.2024 and it was observed that:-
1. The mall was in operation during the visit. 2. There are many retail outlets and eateries inside the premises of the mall.
3. The eateries have provided hoods with duct system in the kitchen section to channelize the fugitive emissions but adequate stack height has not been provided to the exhausts as the same are below the roof top.
4. The mall has installed bio-composter for the management of wet waste and dry waste generated by the mall is being lifted by a private vendor, which finally disposes off at Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana's dump site. 5. The mall has installed one DG set of capacity 500 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height.
It is further submitted that similar violations have been reported by RO on e-noting which is under the consideration of Competent Authority.
In light of point no. 3, if approved, Show Cause Notice fore refusal of consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 maybe issued to the promoter company with an opportunity to show cause within 15 days. |
