• The industry is a small scale red category electroplating unit.
• Earlier, the industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 valid upto 30.06.2023 for engaged in the process of Job Work of Sanitary Fittings by using Brass Casting from Outside, Nickle and other Chemicals as raw material in the name M/s Satyam Brass & Steels, 200-B Globe Colony, Industrial Area, Jalandhar under red category and industry registration ID R18JAL977765.
• Now, the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 with and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for engaged in the process of Job Work of Sanitary Fittings by using Brass Casting from Outside, Nickle and other Chemicals as raw material in the name M/s Satyam Enterprises Earlier Known as M/s Satyam Brass & Steels 200, Globe Colony, Industrial Area, Jalandhar under red category and industry ID R24JAL1726642 and detail of the same is as under:-
1. The industry has deposited Rs. 12100/- under Air Act, 1981 vide UTR.N. N020242843094928 dated 20.01.2024, Rs. 12100/- vide UTR No. N020242843091082 dated 20.01.2024 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 2700/-(Rs. 2200/- as NOC regularization fee and Rs. 500/- form fee) vide UTR No. N020242843095401 dated 20.01.2024 against the fixed assets of Rs. 21.12 lacs, which are adequate upto 30.06.2028 including 50% penalty.
2. The industry has made an agreement with JBR Technology, Ludhiana for the lifting of trade effluent generated by the industry @ 2725 ltr/month
3. The industry has submitted approved building plan from Competent person under Factories Act, Punjab.
4. The industry has submitted letter from M.C Jalandhar addressed to Fedration of Jalandhar Industrial & Traders association, vide no 348 dated 03.03.2014 mentioning that the area of Saini Colony, Dada Colony & globe colony falls in general industrial zone as per Master Plan 2009-2031.
5. The industry has submitted declaration regarding partners and registry copy of the land with the application.
• The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 05.03.2024 and observed that :-
1. The industry was not in operation due to shortage of order and is engaged in process of castings.
2. The industry has installed electroplating section.
3. The industry has installed water meter on pipe line from fresh water is consumed in process and water meter reading during visit was 0118.91 KL during visit.
4. The industry has provided underground concrete tank of capacity 4000 ltr for storage of effluent generated from process. The industry has stored approx. 800 ltr in the storage tank during visit.
5. The industry has shown the receipts of trade effluent lifted by CETP operator Ludhiana and the fresh water consumed 12694 ltr in process area and has got effluent lifted to CETP operator of 11860 ltr during period from Nov 2023 to 05.03.2024, which was found in order.
6. The domestic effluent is discharged into sewer
7. The industry is complying with the provisions of under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
The industry is a small scale red category unit and competency to decide such type of case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal office, Jalandhar.
Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that the fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2028 with usual condition as per policy of the Board.
