Subject: - Proceedings of the personal hearing given to M/s Kamboj Palace, Khuian Sarwar to Haripura Road, Village Khuian Sarwar, Tehsil Abohar, Distt. Fazilka before refusal of 'consents to operate' granted under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 by the Senior Environmental Engineer on 05.03.2024.

It was brought out that the marriage palace has been established without obtaining consent to establish/NOC of the Board and applied for obtaining fresh consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
The marriage palace was visited by the officer of the Board on 20.02.2024 and it was observed that:-
1. The marriage palace was not in operation during the visit.
2. The palace has provided oil & grease chamber for kitchen section, however has not provided septic tank for treatment of domestic effluent. It has provided an underground cemented tank for storage of effluent from where it is being disposed off into neighboring agriculture fields.
3. The marriage palace has not provided plantation area for disposal of effluent.
4. The marriage palace has not provided compost pit for disposal of municipal solid waste generated from its premises.
5. The marriage palace has not provided hood arrangement with chimney at the kitchen section.
6. The marriage palace has installed DG set of unknown capacity without canopy and inadequate stack in its premises.
7. The marriage palace has not submitted any concrete documentary proof regarding its date of commissioning so as to adjudge the adequacy of fee deposited by it.
In view of above, show cause notice before refusal of 'consents to operate' granted under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981has been issued to the marriage palace alongwith an opportunity of personal hearing on 05.03.2024.
During hearing, the Partner of the marriage palace submitted that all the shortcomings have been attended and requested to grant the CTOs applied under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
After hearing, the Partner of the marriage palace as well as the officer of the Board, it has been decided by the Senior Environmental Engineer of the Board that:-
1. The marriage palace shall ensure to comply with guidelines for control of pollution & enforcement of environmental norms issued by the Board vide its office order no. SEE(HQ-2)/2021/64 dated 02.02.2021 in true letter & spirit.
2. Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Faridkot shall visit the marriage palace to verify the compliance at site and process the consent application(s) applied under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 on merits.
