It is submitted that the industry is small scale orange category unit and earlier the industry was granted renewal of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH4/2019/8833504 dated 18.02.2019 valid upto 30.09.2023 and under the Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH4/2019/8969289 dated 25.03.2019 valid upto 30.09.2023 with suitable and special conditions mentioned therein for manufacturing of General Forgings @ 3.0 Metric Tonnes/Day by using M.S. Round/Bar @ 3.5 Metric Tonnes/Day as raw material.
Now, the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS for manufacturing of Steel Forging Components @ 4.25 TPD by using M.S. Round/Square @ 4.25 TPD. The industry has submitted consent fee of amounting to Rs. 54000/- vide R.no. SBIN224038324590 dated 07.02.2024 under the Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 54000/- vide R.no. SBIN224038317839 dated 07.02.2024 under the Air Act, 1981, which is valid upto 30.09.2029.
To verify the facts, the site of the industry was visited by the officer of this office on 07.03.2023 and it was observed that: -
1. The industry was in operation during the visit.
2. The industry has installed 03 no. forging hammer of capacity @ 1.5 tonne, 1.0 tonne and 0.75 tonne with 03 no. billet heaters. The industry has also installed 01 no. shot blast machines with adequate stack height, 03 no. Grinding machines and 02 no. Belt polishing machines.
3. The industry has also installed 10 no. power presses of various capacities.
4. The industry has also installed 02 no. lathe machines and 02 no. Surface Grinder.
5. The industry has no source of trade effluent generation and cooling water is being circulated back in the process. The domestic effluent is being discharged into public sewer.
6. The industry is complying with the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981.
In view of above, it is recommended that the varied Consent to Operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry up to 30.09.2029 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
