• The industry is a small scale orange category unit.
• Now, the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 with and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for manufacturing of D.I. Pipe Fittings and Sluice Valves @ 980 kg/Day by using Iron Scrap @ 1.0 Metric Tonnes/Day as raw material and detail of the same is as under:-
1. The industry has deposited Rs. 80600/- (i.e Rs. 67200/- under Water Act, 1974, Rs. 8400/- as NOC fee, Rs. 5000/- VDS scheme fee) vide UTR.N. POD007020669 dated 27.12.2023 and Rs. 72700/- (i.e Rs. 67200/- under Air Act, 1981, Rs. 5000/- VDS scheme and Rs. 500/- form fee ) vide UTR.N. POD007020474 dated 27.12.2023 against the fixed assets of Rs. 126.30 lacs, which are adequate upto 31.10.2026.
2. The industry has submitted approved building plan from Competent person under Factories Act, Punjab.
3. The industry has submitted classification of area certificate issued from DTP, Jalandhar vide No. 575 dated 13.04.2023 in which mentioned that the site of the industry falls in General Industrial Zone as per Master Plan 2009-2031.
4. The industry has submitted electricity bill as per proof of date of commissioning i.e Nov/2020.
5. The industry has submitted partnership deed, completion certificate of induction furnace, registry copy of the land, manufacturing process, drawing of induction furnace with the application.
• The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 11.03.2024 and observed that :-
1. The industry was in operation and is engaged in manufacturing of D.I. Pipe Fittings and Sluice Valves.
2. The industry has installed one induction furnaces of capacity 0.300 TPH along with bag filter house as APCD and adequate stack height.
3. The industry has installed one shot blasting machine of capacity 150 kg/day with bag house as APCD and adequate stack height.
4. There is no source of trade effluent generation only domestic effluent is discharged into sewer. Entire cooling water is being re-circulated.
5. The industry is complying with the provisions of under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
The industry is a small scale orange category unit and competency to decide such type of case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal office, Jalandhar.
Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that the fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.09.2026 with usual condition as per policy of the Board and with special condition that the industry shall submit air emission sample analysis report from Boards Lab within 02 months.
