The industry is a small scale red category unit.
A. It is submitted that the industry was granted consent to operate on 28.11.2006 valid upto 31.03.2007. The industry has obtained land use classification certificate from DTP Jalandhar vide letter no. 843 dated 03.05.2012 mentioning that the industry falls in General Industrial Zone as per Master Plan Jalandhar.
B. Thereafter, consents to operate granted to the industry were extended upto 02.05.2017. The consents were granted through offline mode.
C. Now, the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 with requisite documents as option to apply through auto renewal is not available due to previous CTOs being granted through offline mode.
D. The industry has deposited Rs. 23800/- vide UTR no. BARBY24045603931 dated 14.02.2024 under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Rs. 23800/- vide UTR no. BARBY24045615835 dated 14.02.2024, which was adequate upto 01.05.2028.
E. The industry was visited by AEE (outsource) on 29.12.2023 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during the visit.
2. The industry has installed nickel plating section.
3. The industry has made agreement with M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Ludhiana @ 10,000 ltrs/month for lifting of its trade effluent
4. The effluent is being collected is two underground PVC tank having capacity of 2000 ltrs each. About 2000 ltrs effluent was in store during visit.
5. The industry representative produced lifting slips of total 57000 ltrs effluent collected by JBR Technologies Limited since July 2023.
6. The industry is maintaining record of water consumed and effluent lifted which are in consonance.
Recommendations :-
Keeping the above in view, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2027 with suitable conditions please.
