The brick kiln owner was earlier granted consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Varied/FZL/2019/10867266 dated 29.08.2019 for manufacturing of bricks & tiles @ 30,000 nos/day using induced draught zig-zag kiln technology based brick kiln, expired on 30.09.2023.
Now, the brick kiln has applied fresh consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974. Details of the case are as under:-
1) The industry has deposited Rs. 46,500/- vide UTR/Ref. No. 149966905 dated 01.03.2024 under the Water Act, 1974, against the fixed assets of Rs. 26.40 Lakhs as on 31.01.2024 as per CA certificate. Thus, the consent fee is adequate upto 30/09/2034.
The brick kiln has obtained consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 through auto-generation vide no. CTO/Renewal/FZL/2024/25048999 dated 04.03.2024 with validity upto 04.03.2034. The brick kiln has deposited Rs. 29,000/- vide UTR/Ref No. 698234768 dated 01.03.2024.
To check the compliance, the brick kiln was visited by undersigned (AEE) on 12.03.2024 and it was observed as under:-
1) The brick kiln was not in operation during the visit. The brick kiln has provided coal and paddy straw pellets as fuel to be used in the kiln.
2) The brick kiln owner has already been modified its kiln and has upgraded its kiln into induced draft zig-zag technology
3) A VFD fan has been provided with the chimney and the length of the brick kiln (central island).
4) The brick kiln has provided ladder and platform along with adequate sampling facilities for carrying out emission sampling.
5) The kiln has stabilized the periphery road / movement area with brick bats/keri.
6) Plantation has been provided all around the brick kiln.
7) The brick kiln has provided septic tank for treatment of domestic wastewater and the same is being discharged onto land for plantation.
The brick kiln is complying with the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981.
In view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the brick kiln for a period upto 04.03.2034 (same as validity of CTO-Air), subject to the suitable conditions please.
