It is intimated that earlier the Consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 was granted to the industry vide online reference No. CTOA/Fresh/GRP/2016/4769865 dated 10/11/2016, which was valid upto 30/06/2021 under orange category.
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining fresh consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 & Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for the production of Pig Iron Scrap @ 15 MTD, Hard Coke @ 3.5 TPH, Lime Stone Per Cupola) @ 2.0 T/Day & C.I. Casting Per Cupola) @ 1.0 T/Day by using C.I. Casting @ 3.0 T/day under orange category. The project proponent has submitted various documents, which are enclosed along with the application, which may kindly be pursued.
The industry has deposited Rs. 20,300/- vide UTR No. 000145229225 dated 02/03/2024 & Rs. 29,900/- vide UTR No. 000145228925 dated 02/03/2024 as consent to operate fee under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 including Rs. 500/- as Form Downloading fee against total gross value of fixed assets worth Rs. 19,01,481/- as on 31/01/2024 and same are adequate upto 30/09/2028 under both Acts.
The PSCST, Chandigarh has certified vide letter no. PSCST/CC/193 dated 13/10/2016 that the industry has installed cupola furnace and air pollution control device having melting capacity less than 3T/hr as per the technology evolved by PSTST, Chandigarh.
As per policy of the Board and in the light of Head Office Order No. 59 dated 02/02/2016, the consent cases of Orange Category units are to be processed without visiting them.
The project falls in Orange category in small scale sector, hence competency to decide the case lies with the Environmental Engineer of the Board in the light of Head Office, Patiala letter no. 19650-761 dated 30/04/2013.
In view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under Water (Prevention& control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30/09/2028 with suitable conditions. |
