The industry was granted consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 vide nos. CTOW/Renewal/MKS/2022/20428219 & CTOA/Renewal/MKS/2022/20428083 both dt. 27.12.2012 valid upto 31.03.2024 for operation of bio mass power plant to produce Electricity @ 14.5 MW, subject to the suitable conditions.
Now, the industry has applied for extension in validity of consents to operate under the Water Act, 1974 & the Air Act, 1981 through OCMMS for operation of bio mass power plant to produce Electricity @ 14.5 MW along with requisite documents.
The industry has submitted the CA certificate dated 02.02.2024, wherein, the value of total fixed assets of the unit as on 31.03.2023 is Rs. 101.41 Crores with value of plant & machinery is Rs. 79.85 Crores. Accordingly, the industry has deposited consent fee of Rs. 2,88,000/- (Rs. 1,44,000/ each) vide online R. No. ICICR52024012000867786 dated 20.01.2024 under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. As such, as per circular dated 29.10.2018, the fee deposited by the industry under both the Acts is adequate upto 31.03.2025.
As the industry has already provided a neutralization pit for treatment of waste water generated from the cooling tower down, boiler blow down, rejection of D.M. and de-ashing conveyor belt reject. Domestic effluent generated from toilet section is treated in septic tank before disposal onto land for plantation. The industry had planted trees in an area more than 4 acres for disposal of treated waste water onto land for plantation.
From above it is clear that the industry is complying with the provisions of the Water Act, 1974.
Keeping in view of the above, it is recommended that Consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 may be extended for a period up to 31.03.2025 for operation of bio mass power plant to produce Electricity @ 14.5 MW, with the same terms & conditions
