It is submitted that the industry was given personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer on 05.09.2023 wherein it was decided as under:-
1. The industry shall apply for consents under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and authorization under Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement), Rules, 2016.
2. The industry shall utilize the entire treated effluent for plantation purposes.
3. Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Sangrur shall visit the industry and process the applications to be applied by it on merits.
In compliance to the decisions of personal hearing the industry has applied for consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 regarding authorization industry has stated that it will be applied within a month.
Further, the industry has not provided the septic tank and utilizing its treated domestic effluent onto land for plantation.
In view of above, it is, therefore, recommended that the industry may be granted fresh consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 upto 31.03.2033 (upto adequacy of fee) for manufacturing of EP Sheets and Mattress with suitable conditions and special condition that the industry shall apply for authorization under HWM Rules, 2016 within one month.
