It is submitted that industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution)Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 with an opportunity of personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-I, Ludhiana on 13.03.2014 in which following decisions were taken:-
1. The industry shall re-circulate the cooling water and discharge only domestic effluent onto land for plantation.
2. The Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-1, Ludhiana shall verify submission made by the industry and submit recommendations in view of land use pattern of the area.
The compliance of the decisions of personal hearing is as under:-
1. The industry is re-circulating its cooling water and only domestic effluent is discharged onto land for plantation.
2. As per DTP, Ludhiana letter No. 2711 DTP(L)M.2A dated 06.09.2007 the site of the industry falls in Industrial Zone(copy attached).
In light of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.09.2028.
