• The industry is a small scale red category unit and was engaged in the process of electroplating.
• The industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS of the Board and detail of the same is as under:
1. The industry has deposited Rs. 7100/- (Rs. 6000/- under Water Act 1974 and Rs. 1100/- and as NOC regularization fee) vide R. No. POD014082003 dated 06.03.2024 against the fixed assets of Rs. 1.15 lacs, which are adequate upto 31.10.2028.
2. The industry has submitted made an agreement with JBR Technology, Ludhiana @ 2000 ltr/ month.
3. The industry has submitted approved building plan from competent person under Director of Factories act Punjab.
4. The industry has submitted a letter issued by M.C Jalandhar addressed to Fedration of Jalandhar Industrial & Traders association, vide no 348 dated 03.03.2014 mentioning that the area of Saini Colony, Dada Colony & Globe Colony falls in general industrial zone as per Master Plan 2009-2031.
5. The industry has submitted rent agreement as per proof of date of commissioning, ikrarnama and proprietorship certificate with the application.
• The industry was visited by the officer of this office on 28.03.2024 and it was observed that:
1. The industry was in operation and engaged in the process of electroplating.
2. The industry has installed 1 no. nickle tank and 1 no. chrome tank for electroplating process in its premises.
3. The industry has provided 1 No. plastic storage tank of capacity 1000 ltrs for the storage of its effluent generated from the pickling process. The industry has stored approx. 900 ltr in the storage tank during visit.
4. The industry has installed water meter on pipe line from fresh water is consumed in process and water meter reading was noted 0005.83 KL during visit.
5. The industry has shown the receipts of trade effluent lifted by CETP operator Ludhiana and as per receipts detail is as under:-
6. The fresh water consumed 5830 ltr in process area and has got effluent lifted to CETP operator of 4700 ltr during period from 01.01.2024 to 28.03.2024 which was found in order. The industry is maintaining the record of fresh water consumption as well as lifted by CETP operator on daily basis.
7. The domestic effluent generated by the industry is being discharged into sewer.
8. The industry has not installed any DG set/furnace/boiler at site.
9. The industry is complying with the conditions under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.
The industry is a small scale red category unit and competency to decide such case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Jalandhar.
Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 may be granted upto 30.06.2028 with usual conditions as per policy of the Board.
