It is intimated that the industry is small scale red category unit. The industry was earlier granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Varied/LDH2/2023/23845087 dated 11/12/2023 valid upto 30/06/2028 and under Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Varied/LDH2/2023/23892642 dated 11/12/2023 valid upto 30/06/2028 subject to the certain conditions mentioned therein.
Now, the industry has applied for varied of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 alongwith requisite document for production of Phosphating on wire rod @ 20 TPD to 40 TPD & wire drawing on job basis @ 24.5 TPD. The industry has applied for enhanced production from earlier granted consent.
The site of industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 01.04.2024 and it was observed as under :-
1. The industry was in operation & engaged in wire drawing on job basis.
2. The industry has installed 1 electric annealing furnace.
3. The industry has installed Acid bath, pickling tanks and Zindi.
4. The industry has signed agreement with CETP (M/s Fertichem Plant Shakti Agro Pvt. LTd., Village Raiyan, Ludhiana) @ 30000 Ltr/month for lifting of trade effluent generated from process for HCL related effluent.
5. The industry has signed agreement with re-processors (M/s SKIFAC Pvt. Ltd.,) @ 40000 Ltr/month for lifting of spent acid generated from process related to H2SO4.
6. The industry has completely replaced the HCL with sulphuric acid and has cancelled the agreement made with CETP operator earlier.
7. The industry is maintaining the record of fresh water consumed in process area and spent acid lifted to both the re-processors. As per the record maintained by the industry, the industry is getting the spent acid lifted in synchronization with water consumed considering the evaporation loss.
8. The industry has provided two storage tanks of capacity 3000 Ltr each for sulphuric acid section and approx. 1000 Ltr of effluent was lying in storage in one tank and nearly 500 Ltrs were stored in the other storage tank of sulphuric acid tank as observed during the visit
9. Domestic effluent is being discharge into sewer.
10. The industry is located in designated industrial zone i.e. Industrial Area-C.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that varied of consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2028 with usual conditions.
